Engineering and Development

RideTech StrongArms are developed and tested at RideTech headquarters in Jasper, Indiana using a real running and driving vehicle. This hands-on development ensures proper fitment, verified installation procedures, and proven real-world performance. The testing process also allows RideTech engineers and dealers to evaluate installation steps and continuously refine suspension performance.

Design

StrongArms are designed with simplicity and strength in mind. They are manufactured in-house using RideTech’s advanced four-axis tubing bender, allowing precise and repeatable bends that cannot be achieved with conventional manufacturing methods.

This process creates smooth, elegant tubing shapes that would normally require multiple welded pieces. The perimeter of the arm is carefully contoured to maximize wheel clearance and turning radius, while the double shear lower shock mounts provide a strong and reliable mounting location for ShockWave or coil-over shocks.

Components

Each control arm is powder coated in a satin black finish for durability and corrosion resistance. They arrive fully assembled with ball joints and bushings already installed.

Injection molded Delrin bushings impregnated with Teflon reduce suspension deflection and stiction while eliminating the need for lubrication, helping maintain smooth and consistent suspension movement.

Suspension Geometry Improvements

Properly engineered control arms increase positive caster without requiring excessive alignment shims. This improves steering stability and road feel while positioning the wheel correctly in the wheel opening for maximum tire clearance.

Ball joint angles are repositioned to prevent binding during suspension movement, allowing the suspension to cycle smoothly through its full range of travel.
